He lived reclusively in the river bottoms and agricultural edges of Nebraska, rarely seen despite years of trail camera photos and sightings. What set The General apart wasn’t just his score, but his presence—wide, heavy beams with long, sweeping points that gave him a regal, almost commanding look, hence the name.

He became a symbol of mature whitetail intelligence and elusiveness, surviving multiple hunting seasons and pressure while growing into an absolute giant. For many hunters, The General represents the pinnacle of patience, habitat, and age—an animal that seemed almost untouchable and earned legendary status without ever needing to be harvested.
