A massive lone bull elk moves silently through the shadowed timber, his rack silhouetted against the dim light. Muscles rippling, he pauses occasionally to lift his nose and flare his nostrils, scenting for receptive cows. Every step is deliberate, ears swiveling to catch distant bugles, as he navigates the dense forest in the thick of the rut, eyes glinting with focus and determination.
